But I noticed something during addictive spells of bleary-eyed photo viewing. (Yes, be forewarned that once you start surfing them, these sites won’t easily let you go.) Houzz, which has more photos contributed by professionals, seems to feature more of the palatial whether it’s outdoors or indoors, interior decor or architecture:




And while Pinterest also has jaw-dropping astonishing photos, more images there seem to be slightly more, how shall we say, accessible feeling? Maybe that’s not quite it because it’s all aspirational which is what draws us to these sites. It seems that the images people share on Pinterest are more scaled to humans. For example, I’ve built quite a collection of “nook” photos on Pinterest. Here’s a few:




What would you choose? Palace size? Or cozy nooks??
I’m drawn to nooks and cubbies in homes, with decent room space around them. Not quite palace-sized though.
